Try your hand at croquet before pondering the choices of the traditional English menu at the Hyperion Restaurant. Named after a famous racehorse, this award-winning restaurant has large picture windows giving diners stunning views of the hotel grounds while they eat. Famous for its traditional English cuisine, the chef has added some modern British dishes to his repertoire. On Sunday lunchtimes the mood is decidedly upbeat when the restaurant usually plays host to a jazz band.

A favourite with sporting guests, the Diadem Bar is fashioned after a gentleman’s smoking room. Later relax in the library (full of fascinating hidden panels) with its selection of books and, on chilly days, an open log fire.

There is also a relaxing lounge with an all day menu of light meals, or guests can enjoy al fresco lunches and lazy summer afternoons with a Pimms on the roof terrace.
