It is Guernsey’s most instantly recognisable landmarks, and is the only British castle to have ever been attacked by the RAF. It houses a number of museums, with a maritime museum, a militia museum detailing the story of the Royal Guernsey Militia, the 201 Squadron museum and the Hatton Gallery. In addition, there is also an exhibition about the Gallo-Roman shipwreck discovered in a nearby harbour mouth in 1985.
