The Lappa Valley Steam Railway is a preserved narrow gauge line that originally ran between Newquay and Chacewater to carry tin ore. Part of the line has been kept open, and features wonderful vintage steam trains, which run along the 2-mile stretch of track through attractive Cornish scenery. There is also a boating lake, crazy golf course and a family picnic area.

Newquay Zoo is an environmentally friendly tourist attraction and the only zoological garden in the county of Cornwall. The zoo has a wide collection of species housed in naturalistic setting, aiding conservation and international breeding programmes. It is a lovely place to take the children for the day.
