Coldharbour Mill has been at the heart of the Devon textiles industry since 1790. It is now a working museum, and is used to produce wool and fabrics using period machinery. It is an interesting way of finding out about the history of one of the South West’s most important industries, and with plenty of things to see and do it makes a great day out for the whole family.

Dartmoor National Park is one of the few remaining wildernesses remaining in the South of England. Bleak, brooding and beautiful, it contains stunning scenery and unique attractions. Its borders can be reached only a few miles inland of Torbay, or west of Exeter. The South West Coast Path passes from Minehead in Somerset, around the Devon and Cornwall coasts and finally to Poole in Dorset, taking in on its way some beautiful and picturesque coastline. The path is over 630 miles long, and part of it runs along the North and South Devon Coasts, offering an excellent way of enjoying the unique scenery, with plenty of stopping places en route.
