The Booth Museum of Natural History is an affectionate homage to the Victorian passion for taxidermy. The museum was started by Edward Booth in the late 19th century as somewhere to house his stuffed bird collection. It has since grown to contain a great selection of natural history exhibits, and is a quirky addition to the choice of things to see and do in Brighton. Admission is free.

Preston Manor is a historic Edwardian stately home, which has been restored to the way it would have looked at the turn of the 1900s. Both the servants’ areas and the family rooms can be viewed, giving an interesting insight into the two sides of the house. Preston Manor is also reputed to be haunted, and the after dark ghost tours are always a popular way to explore the house.

The Royal Pavilion is an unmissable landmark, a grand Indian style building on the Brighton seafront. It was built for Prince Regent (later George IV) around the beginning of the 19th century. Its more recent history has included use as a WWI hospital for wounded Indian soldiers, but today it is open to the public and renowned for its collection of oriental furnishings and artwork.
