It was built into the side of a hill, with three-metre thick reinforced concrete walls, and extends into a labyrinth of rooms, chambers and command centres into which the British Government would have retreated, and from where the country would have been run. Visitors can see for themselves the bunker with its own water supply and electricity generators, BBC studio and radar room.
