The City of Manchester Stadium was built to host the 2002 Commonwealth Games and today the superb 48,000-seater stadium is home to Manchester City Football Club. There is only one museum in the UK that is devoted to the showcasing and exhibiting of hats, and that is the Hat Works Museum in Stockport. The museum is found in the grade II listed Wellington Mill and opened in 2000 in celebration of the town’s prominence in this particular industry since it began several centuries ago. Not only can visitors explore the hats of days gone by, they can also watch live demonstrations to learn more about the industry during their time inside.

The Manchester United Trophy Room and Museum charts the history of one of the UK’s most famous and successful football clubs from 1878 to the present day. Three floors are packed with memorabilia, and include a Hall of Fame and of course the famous Trophy Room.
