Click for travel directions Standing proudly on the banks of Manchester’s River Irwell, the Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel is a beautifully restored red-brick building dating back to 1843. This central Manchester hotel was originally two warehouses that were used to store and transport all manner of goods including raw cotton to feed the surrounding textile mills. Over the years, the warehouses have seen the construction of the Manchester Ship Canal, survived a serious fire towards the end of the nineteenth century and narrowly escaped being totally destroyed during a Second World War bombing raid.

During the 1970s, the warehouses were acquired by Granada Television for prop storage and location filming. In 1988, following the successful opening of the Granada Studios Tour, the decision was taken to convert the warehouses into the luxurious Marriott Victoria and Albert hotel, a four-star hotel in Manchester. Today, the building retains all the character of its Victorian industrial heritage, coupled with contemporary cosmopolitan styling - its history continuing as one of Marriott’s most distinguished and unique hotels.

The Victoria and Albert Hotel has 148 luxuriously-appointed bedrooms, including a range of suites. Every room has satellite television and various other conveniences and amenities to enhance your stay. Due to the historic nature of the hotel's construction, each room is individual in terms of shape and size, while also being subtly dedicated to a Granada TV production or character. As well as deluxe bedrooms there is also a selection of superior rooms, junior suites and suites, the latter proving the most luxurious of all the hotel’s bedrooms.

Other facilities at the hotel include meeting and event rooms and spaces in which to eat and drink. There are nine meeting rooms that cover 500 square metres in total with the largest of these boasting a seating capacity of 300. For meals and beverages meanwhile there is the Victoria and Albert Restaurant and Bar. It is also worth noting that onsite car parking is available and is charged on a day-delegate or overnight basis.
