Lime Wood is home to two restaurants, each offering a distinctly different dining experience.
The Dining Room offers an elegant, fine-dining experience in a wonderful location. The Dining Room has oak panelled walls, hand-carved chandeliers, intricate detailing and picturesque views of the hotel's gardens and the forest beyond. The atmosphere in the dining room is warm and welcoming, with a certain degree of informality uncommon to this type of establishment. The Dining Room is open for both lunch and dinner, although it should be noted that The Dining Room is closed on Mondays.
The Scullery has been designed to evoke the ambience of a traditional 18th century country house kitchen. The main feature of The Scullery is the large-open fireplace. More than just decoration, the fireplace is regularly used to roast meat “a la ficelle”, a French method of cooking meat over a fire. The terrace outside The Scullery is used to host a BBQ each Saturday lunchtime, running alongside the a la carte menu. Naturally, the ideal way to enjoy a BBQ is al fresco, but if the weather is inclement the food can be enjoyed within the comfort of The Scullery.
The Dining Room and The Scullery share a common ethos, to serve the best culinary delights created with flair and imagination. Both menus place heavy emphasis on the use of local, organic products and “forest food” including wild mushrooms, garlic and local venison. The hotel's bar is the ideal place for a pre-dinner drink or aperitif.
The hotel's bar is warm and cosy with an open fire. Lime Wood can boast an extensive and carefully chosen wine cellar, as well as quality ales, cocktails and over 100 cognacs. For those entranced by the cocktails the head barman holds regular master-classes in the fine art of cocktail making, allowing guests to recreate a little of the Lime Wood magic at home.
