It is free to wander around the grounds, and information leaflets and displays are available to describe a little more of the castle’s history.

Canterbury Cathedral dominates the city, although much of its gothic beauty is hidden until you step through the heavy wooden gates into the church grounds. The architecture of the cathedral is stunning in it own right, but it also contains a significant amount of the history of the city. Thomas Beckett was assassinated here, and the building also contains the tomb of the Black Prince.
