The British Commercial Vehicle Museum at Leyland, Lancashire is dedicated to preserving the physical evidence of the history of the road transportation industry in the United Kingdom. This proud history is illustrated through a collection of fully restored vans, trucks and buses produced and sold by the British Commercial Vehicle industry over the past 100 years, including dramatic ‘sound and light’ sets which bring the role of the vehicle to life. The museum is located just one mile from junction 28 of the M6.

Housed within Preston's Old Court House, the Museum of Lancashire allows visitors a chance to experience days gone by, with an authentic reproduction of a 1940's street, a Second World War Anderson shelter with wailing air raid sirens and even an unexploded bomb! Learn about the role of women during the war, ration books and evacuation. There is also a Victorian classroom and a programme of touring and temporary exhibitions, as well as special holiday events and family days throughout the year.

The West Lancashire Light Railway is a narrow gauge passenger railway that operates from the village of Hesketh Bank, between Preston and Southport. There are a number of superb working locomotives and a collection of interesting railway artefacts, making this a great family day out. Among those on the line are the Irish Mail, Joffre, Stanhope, Utrillas and Montalban.
