The Hotel Andaz is a member of the Hyatt hotel group. Until recently it was known as the Great Eastern Hotel, but has become the first Hyatt to be rebranded as Andaz, from the Urdu word for ‘style’. It certainly lives up to its new name. From the outside, the hotel is an appealing 19th century red brick structure conveniently located next to Liverpool Street Station, but on the inside it is an innovative contemporary venue. For example, the lobby has no reception desk as such; instead the reception staff come to you while you enjoy the comfortable lounge chairs.

The hotel is situated in the City of London next to Liverpool Street Rail Station, making the hotel very convenient for both business guests and leisure visitors requiring transport links and to get around London by tube. Liverpool Street Station is connected to the Central, Circle, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan underground lines, as well as providing national rail services and connections to Stansted Airport.

The hotel has 267 contemporary guestrooms and suites, each of which is furnished with designer pieces including Eames chairs and Jacobson lamps. There are single, twin, double, and deluxe king rooms, as well as king and open suites.

The hotel has a great range of dining opportunities, enough for any palate. Between Monday and Friday the stylish option is the fine regional cuisine of 1901 Restaurant and Wine Bar. Alternatively Miyako provides a healthy Japanese menu, while Catch is a popular fish restaurant with adjacent Champagne Bar. Meanwhile, Eastway Restaurant and the George Pub are both relaxed venues, open all week long. Additional facilities at the hotel include a fitness centre with resistance and weight equipment and three beauty treatment rooms. There is also a large collection of meeting and conference rooms – always a premium in central London.
