The Intercontinental Hotel London is set at the point where Hyde Park, Park Lane, Knightsbridge and Piccadilly come together, in one of the busiest and most famous corners of the nation’s capital. The striking five-star property is particularly large and has an abundance of top class facilities inside, from the mammoth number of bedrooms and the stylish function rooms through to the relaxing leisure spaces and the restaurants and bars. Though from the outside the Intercontinental Hotel Park Lane might not be the most attractive of buildings the interior is what the hotel should be judged on, and it is elegant, not least the stunning crystal chandeliers that greet visitors in the lobby.
This luxurious hotel enjoyed a refurbishment in recent years and takes up an excellent position in the south-western corner of prestigious Mayfair; the Intercontinental Hotel London does a good job in fitting in with its impressive surroundings. Formerly the location of a royal residence the hotel is now just a stone’s throw away from the expansive Hyde Park with the Serpentine Lake in the middle and with all its opportunities for leisure and fun. On the other side meanwhile is Green Park with the likes of Wellington Arch, Buckingham Palace and Belgravia all in close proximity too. There is plenty to see and do in this part of London and, what’s more, it is easy to get around thanks to the abundance of buses, taxis and underground trains that work their way around the city. In fact, Hyde Park Corner underground station is set just over the road from the property and is found on the Piccadilly line which links up with Heathrow Airport.
