Despite not being a particularly glamorous building the hotel’s location and interior ensure it is a suitable and convenient place in which to stay when visiting the capital of the United Kingdom. The property was formerly known as the Thistle Trafalgar until its recent makeover which saw some freshening up of the bedrooms and restaurant as well as a name change.

The Royal Trafalgar is located on a relatively quiet street somewhere between the City and Whitehall and mid-way between the busy and colourful Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square areas. This means that many of London’s impressive and ever-popular attractions and sights are within a stone’s throw of the hotel. Among them are the National Gallery which is situated right next door, Regent Street and Covent Garden as well as the likes of Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Cathedral.

The Royal Trafalgar is conveniently position with a number of railway stations all within a two mile radius. On top of this the London Underground can take you even closer to your destination with a handful of tube stations in close proximity. Also nearby there are several other Thistle hotels which combine to bring together a large number placed at various intervals across the city. The closest ones are the Thistle Piccadilly, One Whitehall Place and the Royal Horseguards.
