The Hotel Russell is a landmark building in the very heart of the artistic Bloomsbury area of central London. It is conveniently positioned within walking distance of both the campus buildings of UCL and the historic grandeur of the British Museum. The Hotel Russell was built in the late 19th century and is famous for being the first purpose-built accommodation choice in London. Designed with a distinct French influence, the hotel is also renowned for its terracotta frontage. Now part of the Principal Hayley group, the interior of the Russell has been well and truly brought into the 21st century while retaining its attractive traditional architecture.
Found on Russell Square in the Bloomsbury part of the nation’s capital this is one of the more striking four-star hotels in London, what with its impressive exterior, its extensive conference facilities and its array of bedrooms. The Russell Square Gardens are found at the heart of the square while Russell Square underground station is close by, linking up with the Piccadilly line which heads for Heathrow to the west. As well as plenty of nearby businesses and organisations in the likes of the City of London there is also an abundance of sights, museums and other attractions within easy reach of the property. Among the famous features are the Charles Dickens Museum, the theatres of Leicester Square, London Zoo and the British Library.
Under the hotel’s roof there are almost 400 bedrooms to choose from, while for meetings and other types of event there are 19 facilities with the largest able to host up to 460. The experience of dining can be enjoyed at the Fitzroy Doll’s Restaurant and for drinks there is the Tempus Bar.
