The refurbishment of the Eastgate Hotel has seen the addition of the High Table restaurant to the facilities. The High Table provides fine dining in stylish surroundings, and is named after one of the dining traditions of the Oxford colleges.
The restaurant provides a complete breakfast menu of buffet continental and cooked to order options. The restaurant can get quite busy for breakfast, so it is worth heading down early to beat the rush. Additionally, it is more economical to include breakfast in the room rate rather than purchase it separately.
The High Table also has a broad lunch and dinner menu using locally sourced produce wherever possible. The cuisine brings together the best of modern British and Mediterranean cuisine, including grill options. Lunch and evening dining is also supported by Mercure’s trademark Grand Vins selection. The High Table restaurant provides a private dining area for business lunches or personal celebrations.
The Eastgate Hotel’s bar continues as one of Oxford’s most popular evening venues. It is a stylish setting that is open until late, and serves a selection of cocktails, wines, beers and spirits. Traditionally popular with locals, students and hotel guests, the bar is open seven nights per week.
