The Head of the River Inn sits on the banks of the River Thames just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Oxford. The pub and hotel is part of the Fullers group, the famous real ale brewery that has expanded their reach into the hospitality industry. In addition to the Oxford venue, Fullers carry a handful of hotels in London and a choice of characterful inns spreading further afield. The inn has received a four-star rating from the Visit England board for the quality of the facilities.
More specifically it is set next to Folly Bridge and is a property with plenty of elegance both inside and outside. There is so much to see and do in this part of the country, not just in Oxford itself but also in the surrounding Oxfordshire countryside. There are a number of picturesque buildings in the city and so it will always warrant a stroll and wander around, or perhaps a trip to the shops or even a restaurant during your time in the area. Further afield are the likes of Blenheim Palace, Didcot Railway Centre and the striking Cotswolds which span the northern and western parts of the county and beyond.
From some of the 12 bedrooms guests can enjoy excellent views of the River Thames as it flows towards its mouth in the east of the country. The bedrooms are comfortable and relaxing places to stay and some even have a Jacuzzi in to boost your leisure experience. Meanwhile, it seems right that this type of property would have good dining and bar facilities; it serves tasty breakfasts first up, followed by meals from a menu of typical British dishes. All sorts of drinks are available in addition, as is fitting for a member of the Fuller’s group.
