Leisure at the Hawkstone Park revolves around golf with its array of golfing activities and driving and putting history. There are two 18-hole golf courses, named the Hawkstone Course and the Championship Course, while there is also a six-hole academy course. The former came to life in 1920 and originally had nine holes, although in 1930 it gained a further nine holes. The 72-par Championship course covers almost 7,000 yards and was, in times gone by, known as the Windmill course. Along with these areas there is a 15-booth driving range, two putting greens, a practice bunker and a chipping green, so you can shake off the cobwebs before hitting the real thing. The golf centre is the place where the payments are made before the round and the meals and drinks are consumed after the event. In all, the venue is ideal for golf lovers and offers them suitable variety and challenge. The hotel’s surroundings are also good for leisure activities whether you are looking to go for an early morning jog or for a family walk, thanks to the mass of land in the area. Alternatively, it is possible to travel further afield to explore the villages, towns and countryside.
