The Armagh County Museum charts the history of County Armagh with collections of historical and archaeological artefacts, costumes, photographs and posters. The museum in Armagh is the oldest of its kind in this part of the country and it finds itself next to a Georgian mall with trees lining its sides. Seasonal workshops take place throughout the year at the museum.

The Armagh Observatory was commissioned by Archbishop Robinson in 1790 and today is one of the UK and Ireland's leading scientific research establishments. The observatory is home to 25 astronomers and there are also various collections and items of historical interest too. It is complemented by the Armagh Planetarium, which offers visitors an entertaining look at modern space travel. The planetarium opened its doors in 1968 and it runs astronomy courses to go with its exhibits and telescopes.

The Royal Irish Fusiliers Museum tells the story of this most famous army regiment from its establishment in 1793 to its disbandment in 1968. Featuring military memorabilia from the Armagh, Cavan and Monaghan militias, there is also a large model of the capture of a French Eagle during the 1811 Battle of Barossa.

St Patrick founded a Christian church on this site in 445 AD. The church that now occupies the site was constructed in the 13th century, but was refurbished in the 19th century in the Gothic style. It is now a listed building that is an attractive picture-postcard structure whose primary purpose is a place of worship.
