The Peveril of the Peak was a destination enjoyed by Alice Beer in the Holiday programme. She stayed here on a bed and breakfast basis and was delighted with the local gentle walks along the River Dove and also hired a bike along the 13 mile Tissington Trail. Why not follow her example and enjoy a gentle but healthy break?

The Peveril of the Peak was originally the local vicarage. The Hotel gets its name from the novel of the same name by Sir Walter Scott.Like the name suggests the Hotel is a romantic retreat and a wonderful venue for a weekend away or a special event like a wedding or a conference. A Country House Hotel with a difference.

Roger Peveril was the illegitimate child of Oliver Cromwell and the Peveril family also owned the Peveril Castle at Castleton. The romantic ruins and the village are well worth a visit.
