Awarded four stars by the Scottish Tourist Board, Blairs Museum explores the Catholic tradition in Scotland. The museum builds on the collection amassed when the site was Blairs College, a seminary. The current exhibitions include a number of paintings, precious religious artefacts and historic clothing.

Duff House is a historic 18th century stately home that has been used for a range of purposes through the years, but today it is part of the National Galleries of Scotland. It contains a fine selection of paintings and antique furniture housed in an atmospheric setting. The Scottish Tourist Board has awarded Duff House a five star rating.

The ruins of Dunnottar Castle have a breathtaking clifftop location on the east Aberdeenshire coast. The castle has a long involvement in Scottish history dating back to the days of William Wallace. The Castle is accessed by a coastal footpath, and a pleasant afternoon can be spent wandering around the ruins.

Fowlsheugh is a cliff-side nature reserve, famous for the range of seabirds that choose the rocks as their breeding grounds. There are two ways in which birdwatchers can view some of the puffins, guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes, to name but a few of the species here. There are regular boat trips departing from nearby Stonehaven, or there is a footpath up to the cliffs.

Glenshee is a haven for skiers and snowboarders, with 36 runs catering for all ability levels. The centre is accessed on the highest road in Scotland, and runs over four mountains. Glenshee has a range of restaurants and a licensed café on site, as well as a ski shop with all the equipment you may need to buy or hire.

Arbury Hall is a grade I listed building that is to be found in the northern part of the county near Nuneaton. Built on a 12th century Augustinian Priory the hall lies amid an estate of some 100 acres of park and lakes. The imposing manor house is the family home of the Newdigate family and boasts 18th century architecture.
