Set on the banks of Loch Awe, the Kilchurn Castle was once a Campbell clan stronghold. At its height, the castle was an important fortress and a grand home; it is not hard to see why given its strategic location and its striking character. The ruined 15th century structure is now under the care of Historic Scotland and visitors can access the building by boat or by foot having walked for a half-a-mile along a path.
