The original Inverlochy Castle, not to be confused with the much later hotel of the same name, was built in the 13th century and is one of Scotland’s earliest stone castles. Despite being superseded by Oliver Cromwell’s fortified citadel in 1654, Inverlochy Castle outlasted its replacement and today its complete, albeit ruined structure, stands firm and proud.
