It was built in the final years of the 1800s, but within less than 100 years it had fallen into disrepair. Rescued, given grade II listed status and extensively restored, it is now a wonderfully traditional addition to the area.

It explores the history of the county from the historic setting of a grade II listed canon’s office. There is also a gallery with an ever-changing choice of exhibitions in a range of artistic media, and there is a small shop on site.
