Bute Park is one of the largest urban parks in Wales, and with Pontcanna Fields and Sophia Gardens to the west forms a huge public open space on the northwestern edge of Cardiff. The park incorporates Cardiff Castle and a wealth of Medieval and Victorian landscaping. Many events are held here during the year, including beer festivals, open-air concerts, and sports fixtures. Alternatively the park is just a great place to enjoy a little nature.

Bluetown History & Art Centre chronicles the local cultural and personal history of the docks area through various exhibitions of photos, paintings and videos. The centre also shows a variety of temporary exhibitions, and there is a shop selling souvenirs and gifts. The Arts Centre is open every day except Monday, and admission is free.

The completion of a barrage at the mouth of the rivers Taff and Ely has created a 500-acre freshwater bay. This massive structure seats over 70000 spectators and has a feature roof that means the stadium is an all weather venue. The stadium is also designed so that all seats have a good view of the pitch, which makes the stadium great for sporting fixtures and the major musical concerts that are becoming an increasing part of the stadium’s event listings.

The Amgueddfa Genedlaethol Caerdydd is located in the civic heart of Cardiff, next to the University. The beautiful façade fronts an absorbing collection of exhibits and exhibitions. The early origins of Wales are explored, as are aspects of natural history and archaeology. The museum also holds an extensive art collection, with pieces from across Europe and a great set of Impressionist paintings. There are also two eateries: the Oriel restaurant and a café for coffee breaks. The museum makes a great family day out.

The historic Norwegian Church Arts Centre is a landmark building in Cardiff Bay. It was built in the 1860s to provide a place of worship for immigrant Norwegians that came to the area during the explosion of the Welsh coal trade. Today the church has been given a new lease of life as an arts centre. While retaining its links to the local Norwegian community it holds a coffee shop, gallery and a range of exhibitions and events. The venue can also be used for private events.

St David's Hall sits adjacent to and stretches above the St. David’s Shopping Centre in centre of Cardiff. The hall was built in 1982, and officially opened by the Queen Mother in 1983. Since then it has provided the city with a concert venue seating up to 2000 people. The building also acts as an exhibition space, workshop and conference centre.
