Aberystwyth’s remote situation on the West coast of Wales, and its constantly fluctuating population of tourists and students, have made it the main shopping town in this part of the country. The facilities are modest, but still offer most of the High Street names and retailers that would be expected in most town centres.
Intermingled with the familiar names are gift shops and curiosity shops selling items to remind you of your time in Aberystwyth, and the town also offers a good selection of smaller specialist shops and arts and crafts centres. Aberystwyth’s North Parade also hosts frequent farmers’ markets, where you can buy fresh local produce.
