The Bedford Moat House is a popular budget hotel in the centre of Bedford, and is one of several hotels, including Telford, Watford, West Bromwich Watford , Harlow, Basildon , Northampton and Cardiff, recently acquired by Malmaison and Park Inn’s parent company, the Rezidor hotel group. Consequently, The Bedford Moat House has now been rebranded as the Park Inn Bedford Hotel.
The former Moat House hotel sits on the riverside, enjoying scenic views over the River Great Ouse while being seconds away from the heart of Bedford City centre. The hotel itself has much to offer both recreational and business guests, boasting 120 spacious rooms, all en suite, and many with superior views over the river. There is also a relaxing bar and lounge, the Pilgrim Bar, and a Terrace Brasserie, which offers outstanding views over the Great Ouse while visitors peruse the superb menu. In addition, The Body Club fitness centre and massage and sauna facilities are available on site. Visitors to Bedford on business will find that the Park Inn has also retained the Moat House’s eight bespoke function rooms, which are fully equipped and can seat up to 400 delegates. Alternatively, the rooms can be booked for banquets or private parties.
Visitors to Bedford will find that the Park Inn Bedford makes a pleasant base from which to enjoy the highlights of this historic market town. In particular, the Bunyan Museum, which charts the life John Bunyan, non-conformist preacher and writer of Pilgrim’s Progress is definitely worth a visit, and art lovers will especially enjoy the Cecil Higgins Art Gallery, which contains works by Turner, Warhol and Picasso to name a few, as well as regular guest exhibitions from National Museums.
