Bournemouth is the main shopping town in Dorset, and for many years has been the county’s main commercial hub. It offers a diverse choice of shops, and its compact size, pedestrian-friendly streets and abundance of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants make Bournemouth a pleasant shopping experience. Most of the familiar High Street names are well represented, and in the shape of the Quadrant Centre and The Avenue Shopping Centre, Bournemouth has a fair selection of covered shopping malls. The Castlepoint Shopping Park is the largest of its type in this part of the world, and is home to a large range of shops, department stores and retail outlets. In keeping with Bournemouth’s funky, bohemian feel, the town has a fine array of smaller boutiques selling fashionware and clothing. Boscombe Market is open most days of the week and is a good source of fresh produce and clothing.
