Hellfire Caves are to be found just outside West Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. The ancient caves were extended during the 18th Century by Sir Francis Dashwood, founder of the notorious Hellfire Club and incorporated long tunnels, banqueting halls and an inner temple – reached by crossing the River Styx. This fascinating engineering achievement is open to visitors, and there is also a café at the entrance to the caves.

The magnificent manor house has been beautifully preserved, with many of his personal belongings on display to the public. The Bucks Goat Centre has an interesting collection of these characterful creatures, with examples of every breed of goat to be found in the UK. There are also llamas, wallabies, birds, reptiles, pigs and donkeys, as well as a petting pen for small children to get to know the guinea pigs and rabbits. Tractor rides take visitors around the farm, and there is a café that can cater for children’s parties.
