Newport Pagnell

 
Newport Pagnell is one of Buckinghamshire’s largest towns, and is located in the north east of the county. The town is mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, but its growth has mainly occurred during the 20th Century. The outskirts of Newport Pagnell have gradually merged into those of nearby Milton Keynes.

 

Amersham


 
Amersham is set amidst the beautiful scenery of the Chiltern Hills in Buckinghamshire. Its name derives from the Anglo Saxon Agmodesham, and today this pretty town is divided into two parts – Amersham-on-the-Hill and Old Amersham.

 

High Wycombe


 
High Wycombe is the second largest town in Buckinghamshire after Milton Keynes. It is conveniently located close to the M40 motorway, and although it has been a market town since medieval times, much of the architecture of today’s High Wycombe is Brutalist 20th Century.

 

Marlow

 
Marlow is an attractive little town on the banks of the River Thames in South Buckinghamshire. Marlow was traditionally part of Berkshire, and is best known for its handsome suspension bridge and for the nearby Bisham Abbey.

 

Chesham

 
Chesham is the fourth largest town in Buckinghamshire, and enjoys a pleasant location in the Chiltern Hills. There is evidence of Roman habitation of the area, but the true origins of the town date from the Anglo Saxon era.

 

Beaconsfield

 
Beaconsfield is located in the south of Buckinghamshire, in the beautiful surroundings of the Chiltern Hills. Its proximity to London and ease of access by rail and the M40 motorway have made it a popular town for commuters.
