Tatton Park is a grand Neo-Classical mansion set in the heart of a beautiful estate, just outside Knutsford in Cheshire. Jodrell Bank Observatory is situated in Goostrey, Cheshire. It is home to the giant Lovell radio telescope, which has been used to discover key information and increase understanding of the Universe since the 1970s. Visitors can explore the surrounding area using the winding footpath, which makes its way around the telescope and through the specially planted arboretum. Additionally, there is a 3D theatre, exhibition area, an environmental discovery area, space café and shop. The planetarium and exhibitions are currently undergoing refurbishment.

The Blue Planet Aquarium is the largest of its kind in the UK, and can be found near Ellesmere Port in Cheshire. Visitors can catch a glimpse of life under the sea, with two floors of superb displays ranging from rockpools to one of the largest underwater tunnels in the world, from which the collection of sharks swimming overhead can be observed. There is also a Caribbean-themed restaurant and a gift shop selling a range of souvenirs.

Housed in the handsome 1930s art deco building are more than 60 motorcycles and cars from the very earliest pioneering days of motoring, through the veteran and classic eras. Nantwich Museum brings to life the fascinating history of Nantwich, one of Cheshire’s most attractive towns. It tells the story of the town and its people, from the earliest days of salt production under the Romans, the terrible fire that destroyed much of the Tudor town, the Battle of Nantwich during the Civil War, and then later the shoe and textile and the cheese making industries. Cheshire’s salt works provided the region with prosperity and employment for centuries; from the earliest days of salt production during the Roman occupation of the British Isles to the 1980s, towns such as Northwich thrived, until the closure of the famous Lion Salt Works in 1986. The site has been preserved as a working industrial museum, and provides an insight into the importance of salt production, while keeping alive many of the traditional skills and crafts.

Hack Green was the UK’s best-kept secret – a hidden nuclear bunker in rural Cheshire. It is now open to the public, and allows visitors to see for themselves the 35,000 sq ft bunker, which would have been the centre of regional government in the event of nuclear war.
