The historic walled city of Chester is a popular destination for a day trip. The mix of Roman, Medieval and Victorian architecture create a unique setting for a surprising number of opportunities for retail therapy. This is especially noticeable in and around the inimitable Rows. The Rows, based along Watergate, Upper Bridge, Northgate and Eastgate Streets, consist of medieval sub-level and first floor buildings, today used for shops and restaurants.
