There are 156 rooms at The Copthorne Hotel, and such is the design of the hotel all feature views of the River Tyne – perhaps not the most inspiring view of the river, but the High Level and Tyne Bridge are clearly visible to the left of the field of view. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and make use of strong, bold colours to give a very distinctive appearance. The rooms also come equipped with a very impressive list of facilities. For an added touch of luxury and exclusivity, rooms on the Connoisseur Floor feature King Size beds and guests may take advantage of many extras including use of the Connoisseur Lounge. Additionally there are Junior Suites and King Suites, as well as one room with disabled access.

The Copthorne Hotel is a well-established landmark hotel on Newcastle’s Quayside; since it opened in 1990, at a time when the Quayside was still yet to be transformed into the celebrated venue it is today, The Copthorne Hotel has offered a unique blend of contemporary style with traditional values of friendly service and comfortable accommodation. Its location is ideal for people visiting the city; the renowned vibrant nightlife and the mesmerising array of restaurants, pubs, bars and nightclubs of the Quayside and the city centre are within touching distance of the hotel, yet the Copthorne is sufficiently far from the action that the beat of the party is never intrusive – the best of both worlds perhaps. The Copthorne Hotel is also easy to get to; whether you arrive by road or by rail the hotel is not difficult to find. The splendid Victorian elegance of Newcastle’s Central Station is a mere 10 minute walk away, while motorists will be impressed by the Copthorne’s on-site car park, a rare feature in a city centre hotel. It is the thoughtful combination of features and the finesse with which they are executed that make the Copthorne Hotel such a success; peace and quiet is combined with accessibility to all the action, novel and modern styling is combined with a familiarity borne from its role in the rejuvenation of the Quayside, and the qualities of an elegant and discreet luxury hotel are combined with a warm Tyneside greeting that will make you want to return here again.

Newcastle’s Quayside has come a long way in the last 20 years, and The Copthorne Hotel was one of the pioneers in its regeneration. When it was purpose-built in 1990, the Copthorne Hotel stood on a very different Quayside to today’s celebrated waterfront; years of neglect and running down of the area, along with the demise of Newcastle’s once-proud coal, shipbuilding and engineering industries saw the Quayside fall into a sorry state. It was through tremendous vision and drive, and no small amount of investment, that the area was rejuvenated and given a fresh lease of life. Today’s Quayside is an exciting place, with an enticing blend of nightlife, culture and striking architecture.
