| The iconic bridges spanning the Tyne have been supplemented by the Gateshead Millennium Bridge (The Blinking Eye), joining Newcastle to its neighbour across the river – Gateshead – where a significant renaissance has also taken place in the shape of the audacious Sage Gateshead music venue and the Baltic Mills Centre for Contemporary Art. Newcastle’s celebrated city centre with its magnificent Georgian and Victorian architecture and plethora of shops is also just a stone’s throw away from the Copthorne Hotel; with all of this on its doorstep The Copthorne Hotel is a great base from which to explore Newcastle – a city which has become one of the UK’s favourite destinations for city breaks. |
