Bunratty Castle is the most complete Medieval castle in Ireland and as a result is one of the country’s top tourist attractions. Constructed in 1425, the castle has a long and fascinating history. The Folk Park, meanwhile, recreates both rural and urban life in 19th century Ireland, with faithfully reconstructed farmhouses, a church, watermill and even a village street.

Caherconnell Stone Fort

Caherconnell is one of the best preserved stone forts in all of Ireland, with stone walls reaching 14 feet in height. It commonly is believed to have been in use between 400 and 1200 AD, although recent evidence suggests it may have been occupied as lat as the Medieval period. The visitor centre, meanwhile, outlines the history and the realities of day to day life in these stone forts.
