While much of Belfast is in County Antrim, a sizable portion straddles the border and sits in County Down. As a result, there are a host of national and international retailers present not only in Belfast, but also in the large towns of Newry and Downpatrick, meaning there are many opportunities for shopping in County Down.


Aside from the many leading retailers and major shopping centres there are also many small, independent shops selling a wide variety of local goods, from jewellery to glassware and pottery, many of which are unique to County Down and make perfect mementoes of a trip to this most memorable of Irish counties.
