County Wexford is predominantly rural, populated by small towns and villages. Even the largest town of Wexford has only a population of approximately 10,000, so is not blessed with the innumerable shopping opportunities of Dublin, Cork or Galway.
Most of the shops worthy of note in Wexford itself are located on Main Street and within the town’s labyrinthine network of narrow lanes and alleyways. There are, however, a number of larger retail parks on the outskirts of the town to which the multiples are being increasingly drawn.
Likewise, towns such as New Ross, Enniscorthy and Gorey also boast the presence of many of Ireland’s biggest retail brands, but by and large are home to many smaller, traditional retail outlets which are a genuine treat to explore. |
