The attractive North Yorkshire market town of Guisborough is just a short journey from The Gisborough Hall Hotel, and venture a little further and you will discover a fascinating array of historic sites and some of England’s finest unspoilt countryside. The North York Moors National Park contains the country’s largest expanse of heather clad moorland, but its real charm is the variation in terrain, from isolated moors and rugged towering hills to ancient woodland and spectacular coastlines. The Cleveland Way passes by Guisborough, and along its 110-mile route takes in all of the wonderful scenery this region has to offer. Part of the route runs along the North Yorkshire Coast, characterised by rocky cliffs rich in fossil remains, and wonderfully atmospheric little fishing ports dotted along the shore. The Gisborough Hall Hotel makes a great base for visiting Staithes, Redcar and Saltburn-by-the-Sea and also as a rural and more pleasant base for those visiting Stockton-on-Tees and Middlesbrough. Road:

From the North and South (A19)

Turn off the A19 onto the A174 following signs for Whitby and Wilton, then take the third exit for Whitby. Turn right over the dual carriageway and then continue along this road for two miles until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout take the second exit signposted Whitby and Guisborough. At the next roundabout take the third exit onto the dual carriageway. For the next three roundabouts continue straight over, then at the fourth roundabout turn right. You will then find The Gisborough Hall Hotel on your right hand side.
