The Forest of Dean occupies an area to the west of the River Severn in Gloucestershire. It is one of the few remaining ancient forests in the UK and offers its own unique landscape; a landscape that has influenced artists, poets, playwrights and of course tourists for centuries. Designated a National Forest Park in 1938, the Forest of Dean covers 27,000 acres and supports a diverse array of wildlife.

The Dean Forest Railway is a beautifully preserved steam railway running between Lydney and Parkend in Gloucestershire. The 9-mile round journey takes approximately 2 hours as the wonderful vintage steam engines haul the carriages through the unique scenery of the southern fringes of the Forest of Dean. There are several stops along the route; Norchard and Lydney Junction has a large car park, riverside and forest walks, a souvenir shop, museum, restoration shed and a café.

Nature in Art is to be found in the magnificent Wallsworth Hall, just to the north of Gloucester. It is the first museum of its type in the world, with intriguing collections of artworks inspired by nature. With global influences and showcasing works from Old Masters to modern day artists, Nature in Art also offers a programme of special displays. There is also a licensed café, free parking and good wheelchair access.

Westbury Court Garden is situated by the River Severn in Gloucestershire. It is the only restored Dutch water garden in the UK; the National Trust have preserved these beautiful gardens for future generations, with many trees from the 16th and 17th Centuries, as well as what is reputed to be the oldest evergreen Oak tree in England. A programme of events runs throughout the summer months.
