About The Hawkstone Park Shrewsbury
It would be fair to say that golf is the main focus of Shrewsbury’s Hawkstone Park Hotel. The countryside hotel, located to the north of Shrewsbury in the county of Shropshire, is home to two championship courses as well as a six-hole academy course, a golf shop and a golf centre. Needless to say then, there is a vast space of greenery, making it ideal for walks, team-building events and other countryside activities. What’s more, the views are excellent, with a feel of the natural creation to the surrounds. Meanwhile, the nearby Follies offer interesting and indeed striking cliffs, crags, caves, woods and monuments which are ideal for family adventures and exploration. The hotel itself is historic in appearance and has been welcoming visitors since the late-18th century. Its position in the countryside means you have to drive a fair distance from a motorway to reach the Hawkstone Park, but the M54 and the M6 provide the main access points. Meanwhile, Shrewsbury train station 12 miles to the south and the Birmingham International Airport approximately an hour away offer other ways of reaching the hotel.
The Hawkstone Park is an associate member of the Principal Hayley group of hotels. Other countryside conference venues in the chain include the Beaumont House in Windsor, the Ettington Chase near Stratford, the Kenwood Hall by Sheffield and the Selsdon Park Hotel on the outskirts of Croydon. The Hawkstone Park itself offers a choice of 66 guest bedrooms, a figure which contains single, twin and double facilities as well as a couple of superior rooms and a handful of suites. There is also the Hawkstone Lodge which is ideal for families and comes complete with a lounge, a study and a kitchen. Whether you are looking for a three course meal or a light snack, there is a healthy choice thanks to the hotel’s two restaurants. One of the restaurants is set in the golf centre and features views out at the golf course and the ruins of a 12th century castle. For meetings and events there are spaces for small gatherings and for activities for groups of up to 200 people. Of course, the 400-acre grounds are ideal for team-building events in addition. And, while golf provides the highlight of the Hawkstone’s leisure facilities, there is also plenty to do to help you relax in the surrounding towns, villages and countryside.
