The Cathedral and Abbey Church of Saint Alban is the seat of the Bishop of St. Albans and serves the Diocese of St. Albans in the counties of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, the Borough of Luton and the London Borough of Barnet. The Cathedral is also a parish church with a large and active congregation. The Cathedral is open until 5.45pm all year round, and the honorary guides offer guided tours.

The award winning Verulamium Museum in St.Albans, Hertfordshire is on the site of Britain’s 3rd largest Roman City. It is set in 100 acres of parkland and uses Roman objects and new technology to let you discover the life and times of Roman Britain. The museum’s collections of mosaics and wallplasters are some of the finest outside the Mediterranean. On the second weekend of every month Roman soldiers occupy the galleries demonstrating the tactics and equipment of the Roman Imperial Army.

The Forge Museum contains blacksmithing and other craft tools with displays about the Page family blacksmiths and local village life. We have a short video display and working forge on site. There’s also a rare beeshelter in the Victorian cottage garden.
