This restored 17 th century city mansion and former literary salon is located in the historic heart of Paris within walking distance of the Louvre Museum and Notre Dame Cathedral. The Hotel d’Aubusson stands in the Saint Germain des Pres Latin Quarter of the city known for its jewellery boutiques, commercial art galleries and shops filled with Parisian antiques as well as numerous jazz bars and late night cafes. This is authentic Paris. Some rooms face onto the serene courtyard with its softly trickling fountain but to experience the life of the city take advantage of the street facing rooms, which allow guests to throw open the large double windows and watch as the city bustles below. (All of course have double-glazed windows to ensure a quiet night’s sleep). The Hotel d’Aubusson is now one of Paris’s finest boutique hotels offering old-world charm and deluxe accommodation in a building with a rich history. The hotel embraces its eccentric historic features and consequently maximises its appeal. Aubusson tapestries (the hotel’s namesake) adorn the walls of the lounges and breakfast room and in the salon a baronial fireplace roars. Throughout the hotel antiques are placed in front of original stone walls and heavy wooden beam are left exposed. The Aubusson offers an altogether different kind of luxury from many of Paris’s marble and chandelier-filled hotels, combining both its traditional character and modern service.

The spacious, enticingly decorated guestrooms are filled with Regency style antique furniture and expensive toiletries and for families or groups of travellers there are three apartments available in a separate building across the courtyard. The Hotel d’Aubusson’s Café Laurent was once a revered meeting place for the city’s artists and literary figures and today it is one of Paris’s most well known piano bars attracting tourists and locals to frequent live jazz performances. The Hotel d’Aubusson’s showpiece is its beautiful salon that still exhibits heavy exposed wooden beams and a huge open fireplace, it is a peaceful space where guests can come to enjoy a drink amongst company or perhaps to indulge in private thought.
