The guestrooms and suites at the Hotel du Louvre each exhibit their own unique character from the bright yellow country style of some rooms to the contemporary lines and neutral hues of others. All have modern amenities such as Internet access and splendid bathrooms stocked with Annick Goutal toiletries. Many of the rooms offer vistas across Paris and the pride of the Hotel du Louvre’s accommodation is the Piasarro suite dedicated to the Impressionist painter who occupied the room for several months painting the view from its windows.

The Hotel du Louvre is a stylish, four-star boutique hotel overlooking the Louvre. It was the first luxury hotel in France, built on the orders of Napolean III in 1855 to receive the visitors to the Universal Exposition. The hotel is consequently surrounded by art, fashion and culture with the Champs Elysees but a ten-minute walk away. Looking out from the hotel across Paris, famous landmarks punctuate the view in any direction. On one side guests can gaze upon the Louvre Museum, on another – the Opera House Garnier and from the third and fourth the Comedie Francaise and the Palais Royal. The historical and cultural soul of Paris surrounds you. The hotel can even claim to having inspired the author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle who featured the Hotel du Louvre in several of his famous Sherlock Holmes detective stories.

Throughout its interior the hotel has been decorated by the famous French designer Sybille de Margerie. The style is that of a boutique hotel keen to capitalise upon its unique character and all done so with typical Parisian flair. The rooms are refined and elegant, combining contemporary style with Directoire structure. Guestrooms at the hotel each have their own unique character and range from those softly decorated in muted colours with beige furniture to others with jewel-coloured walls and heavy mahogany furnishings. Your preference for the style of room will be taken into consideration by the hotel’s obliging staff. Whichever room guests make their base for the duration of their stay they are sure to be enchanted by luxurious marble bathrooms stocked with Annick Goutal toiletries and new technologies such as LCD televisions and Internet connection. The piéce de resistance of the Hotel du Louvre’s bedrooms is the Pissarro suite where the Impressionist artist Camille Pissaro took up residence for several months in 1897 – 98. Today its windows reveal the same panorama that charmed the artist to paint the vista of Paris below. The hotel’s Brasserie specialises in fresh seafood as well as traditional French cuisine and has a terrace for al fresco dining in summer. The seductive red and black interior of the Defender Bar is a favourite with locals, artists, businessmen and tourists.

The Hotel du Louvre offers its guests the highest quality service whether that is in organising a business conference or booking theatre tickets for a special occasion and with its superb location in the centre of historical Paris the hotel offers the perfect base for fine dining, sightseeing, shopping and entertainment venues.
