Today’s Tunbridge Wells is predominantly an unassuming commuter town for London, as well as a popular tourist resort and a centre for high-tech light industry. The town has successfully retained much of its old world charm, and boasts some impressive shopping facilities, pleasant cafes, bars and restaurants, and many places of historical interest. The historic Pantiles, with the Chalybeate Spring, which was the source of the town’s prosperity, and the beautiful Common both remain wonderfully unspoilt. Tunbridge Wells possesses several attractive parks and recreational facilities, including one of the grounds used by Kent County Cricket Club. Slightly further afield is the wonderful rolling scenery of the Kent countryside, with its charming villages, historic houses and castles. Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells is the perfect base from which to explore the Garden of England.
