Set within one of Tallinn’s most striking 19th century buildings, formerly the home of the Estonian Telegraph Company, Hotel Telegraaf is one of the city’s newest hotels, having only opened in May 2007. In the short time it has been open Hotel Telegraaf has played host to a number of famous dignitaries, including the President of Estonia and the German Foreign Minister. Combining an illustrious heritage with modern amenities, the hotel is located on Vene Street, famous as the historic area of culture in the heart of the Latin Quarter, amidst the medieval splendour of the Old Town. This is one of Tallinn’s most beautiful neighbourhoods, where everything from restaurants to bars, museums to churches can be found.
All 86 guestrooms and suites are luxuriously furnished with modern amenities and period charm. Executive rooms are located in the new part of the hotel, reconstructed after its destruction in World War II. Executive rooms are fully carpeted with en-suite bathrooms and offer great views of the hotel courtyard. Superior rooms are located in the historic part of the building and boast a classic interior décor with wooden floors, en-suite bathrooms and views of either a street side or the courtyard. The hotel’s in-house restaurant, Tchaikovsky, is universally acclaimed by both guests and locals alike. Its blend of Estonian, Russian and international cuisine reflects Estonia’s long and complex history, and earned Executive Chef Igor Andrejev an esteemed reputation. The restaurant now also has a summer terrace where guests can eat al fresco during fine weather while enjoying the magnificent views of the bustling town hall square. Lighter snacks and meals can also be ordered in the Lobby Bar. Other facilities at Hotel Telegraaf include the Elemis Spa with its two treatment rooms, a Jacuzzi, steam bath, Finnish sauna and a ten-metre indoor swimming pool. Alternatively guests can relax and unwind with a drink in the Lobby Bar.
Hotel Telegraaf may not boast the vast conference facilities of other larger luxury hotels, but it is nevertheless regarded as a leading venue for all manner of events. The multi-functional meeting room can accommodate up to 50 people for meetings, conferences, presentations or private dinners, and features all the latest AV and communication equipment.
