About the Houstoun House Hotel Edinburgh
The Macdonald Houstoun House is one of Scotland’s more historic hotels. Much of the present site was constructed in the mid 1500s, and hosted Mary Queen of Scots shortly before her execution. Comprised of a 16th century tower, neighbouring manor house and steading, the hotel boasts a uniquely historic character that has made it one of the most popular hotels in Scotland’s central belt.
Surrounded by 20 acres of glorious grounds and woodland, the hotel has an air of rural tranquility, but is nevertheless conveniently located for access to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

With an 18-metre swimming pool, high tech gym, sauna, steam room and a range of aromatherapy and beauty treatments, it is unsurprisingly popular with guests.
