The Howard Hotel Edinburgh is a luxury five-star Georgian styled hotel which is set in the centre of Scotland’s capital city. The establishment is the proud winner of the 2006 Thistle Award for customer care; it received a special commendation in the 2007 Scottish Hotel of the year awards; and it is consistently placed in the UK’s top 200 hotels by AA.
Known for being a discreet, homely and welcoming place to stay, the Howard Hotel was originally among a number of houses built in the 1820s in the New Town part of Edinburgh which developed after the Old Town area became overcrowded. The three houses which now make up the Howard were turned into a hotel after World War Two. During the mid-90s the property underwent a makeover to ensure its upkeep and decoration was kept top class. Today, the Howard commits itself to treating its visitors like guests staying in private residences, hoping they can call it their home during their stay.

Edinburgh’s Howard Hotel finds itself situated just seven minutes’ walk from George Street, with its designer boutiques; approximately five minutes’ taxi journey from Waverley train station; and nine miles from Edinburgh airport.
The city itself has a variety of Georgian and Victorian architecture set amid winding medieval streets. Listed as a world heritage site, Edinburgh boasts a picturesque castle set on a volcano, a number of museums and restaurants, bars and shopping areas in abundance.
