Leighton Hall is an elegant country house set in beautiful parkland in the far north of Lancashire. It was built by the furniture-making Gillow family, and the handsome neo-Gothic house features many of their finest works, as well as an excellent collection of artworks. The grounds and gardens are breathtaking, as are the views of the Lakeland fells in the distance.

Lancashire had several great mill towns during the 19th Century, but Burnley was perhaps the most prolific of them all. The Weavers’ Triangle Visitors Centre has been set up to help preserve the town’s textile heritage and gives visitors an understanding of how life and work must have been for people in Lancashire at the peak of productivity in the 19th Century.
