Logroño CathedralLogroño Cathedral
Logroño

Construction of the Cathedral began in 1516 and continued for the next three centuries. It was named a Concatedral in 1959. Its original architecture is gothic but it had later additions, while it also has a number of impressive features inside its walls too.

Wine Harvest Festival
La Rioja

Fittingly for the region, from the 20th till the 26th of September there is a wine harvest festival held all around the community. Locals jump into the oak casks to jump up and down on grapes, while there is also dancing, music and, inevitably, bullfighting.

Haro

Thought of by some as the Spanish Tuscany, Haro is the wine tour centre of La Rioja in its position 50 kilometres north-east of the capital Logroño. The city itself is well-worth a visit too with its interesting landmarks in the old quarter.
