The Leeming House Hotel stands in 22 glorious acres of landscaped grounds, lawns and woodland sloping down to the shores of Ullswater in the romantic Lake District. The estate in which The Leeming House Hotel stands once belonged to a local family and the grandiose manor house itself is over 200 years old. It is now a handsome and well-appointed hotel that successfully combines the elegance and grace of a bygone age with the amenities required by today’s discerning hotel guest. Additionally The Leeming House Hotel offers both the seclusion and delightfully relaxed way of life of the North East Lakes with effortless access via the M6 and the A66. The whole of the Lake District is at your disposal, and what better way to enjoy all that this breathtaking region has to offer than from the comfortable base of a quintessentially English manor house hotel. Whether you’re visiting the Lake District for adventure, exhilaration and exploration or to simply wind down and enjoy a gentler pace, The Leeming House Hotel makes the ideal base. Furthermore, with its impressive conference and banqueting facilities set off by the tranquil and idyllic surroundings, The Leeming House Hotel also makes a refreshingly different venue for meetings and events, or a romantic setting with the perfect backdrop for your wedding.
Nestling close to the north shore of Ullswater in the north eastern Lake District, The Leeming House Hotel enjoys a tranquil location in the heart of some of England’s most glorious and romantic countryside. The Lake District is characterised by rugged terrain, with swooping valleys, bleak fells, craggy escarpments and expanses of water all chiselled by nature during the last Ice Age. Ullswater is the second largest lake in the Lake District after Windermere, and gently wends its way through eight miles of splendid Cumbrian terrain. Like Windermere, Ullswater is a haven for watersports enthusiasts; the lake is liberally dotted with the sails of yachts and windsurfers, and quaint steamers criss-cross the waters, providing perhaps the best view of the lake and the magnificent fells beyond. Unlike Windermere however, Ullswater has retained its feeling of isolation and seclusion. The outside world you left behind feels like a million miles away and you can relax and just take in the glorious views and the fresh Lakeland air. The shore of Ullswater is populated by charming little villages such as Watermillock, Pooley Bridge, Patterdale and Glenridding – perfect places to stop and enjoy afternoon tea or a bite to eat after a hard days’ relaxation!
